Pen and marker.  Red-eyed tree frogs hide their colorful bits when they sleep, to blend in with the greenery. When predators do find it, the frog uses the colored bits to startle and astonish, hopefully giving the frog time to leap away! Progress GIF: Paper re-use is ecologically-friendly.

Watercolor and sharpie CAN work together. Axolotls are a neotenic salamander, meaning they retain characteristics of their young forms. They can be triggered by environmental changes to fully develop into a land-dwelling, gill-less, adult form, but this causes them stress and shortens their lifespan. They can be kept as pets, and also come in speckled, earthy colors. They can also regrow their limbs! They are so talented.

Mixed media (marker, colored pencil, pen, and PS).  Canadian lynxes have gigantic furry feet that act as snowshoes.  That makes them more prepared for Canadian winter than I was!
